26. Cuffs With Rose Buttons

Yarn: 100 % mercerized cotton, 100 g = approx 250 m
Yarn Amount: approx 85 g (all colors – white, off-white, and a color that matches flower buttons)
Crochet Hook: 3,5 mm or size needed to obtain the gauge
Gauge: 25 double crochet stitches and 19 rounds = 10 cm in basketweave stitch 3x3
Size: Woman's M
Measurements: 19 cm around, 16 cm long
Other Supplies: 10 flower buttons and 4 leaf buttons

Cuff
The cuff is worked in rounds in basketweave stitch 3x3 with a jump between rounds. Join the rounds with a slip stitch in first double crochet on working round. First double crochet on next round is always worked in first double crochet on previous round, that is in same double crochet where the joining slip stitch was worked. Work with off-white yarn.
Round 1: ch 48, sl st in back bar of first ch to form ring, ch 2, 1 dc in same st as sl st, 47 dc each in back bar of all next chs, sl st in first dc on working round. / 48 dc
Round 2: ch 1, { 3 fp-dc, 3 bp-dc } 8 times, sl st in first dc on working round. / 48 dc
Rounds 3-4: Repeat round 2.
Round 5: ch 1, { 3 bp-dc, 3 fp-dc } 8 times, sl st in first dc on working round. / 48 dc
Rounds 6-7: Repeat round 5.
Rounds 8-19: Repeat rounds 2-7.

Lace Edging
Continue to work in rounds using white yarn. Attach the yarn in first double crochet on round 22 of the cuff and start working into same double crochet.
Round 1: ch 1, 1 sc, { ch 2, sk 1, 1 sc } 23 times, ch 1, 1 sc in first sc on working round. / 24 ch2-sps
Round 2: ch 2, 1 sc in first ch2-sp on previous round, { ch 2, 1 sc in next ch2-sp } 23 times.
Round 3: (1 sl st, ch 1, 1 sc ) in first ch2-sp on previous round, { ch 2, 1 sc in next ch2-sp } 23 times, ch 1, 1 sc in first sc on working round.
Rounds 4-5: Repeat rounds 2-3.
Round 6: ch 2, 1 sc in first ch2-sp on round 5, { (ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1) = shell in next ch2-sp, 1 sc in next ch2-sp, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch2-sp } 7 times, (ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1) in next ch2-sp, 1 sc in next ch2-sp.
Round 7: (1 sl st, ch 1, 1 sc ) in first ch2-sp on round 6, { ch 1, 1 dc in first dc in shell, ch 1, 1 dc in ch1-sp between first and second dc in shell, ch 1, 1 dc in second dc in shell, ch 1, 1 dc in ch1-sp between second and third dc in shell, ch 1, 1 dc in third dc in shell, ch 1, 1 sc in ch2-sp between two shells } 7 times, continue to work in the same way around the last shell and finish the round with sl st in first sc on working round. Fasten off.
Round 8: Work with the third color yarn, attach the yarn in first ch1-sp on round 7 and start working into same ch1-sp. Work sc in all ch1-sps and all dc on round 7, skip all sc, finish the round with sl st in first sc on working round. / 88 sc
Work the other cuff in the same way except that you start round 2 with 3 bp-dc, continue to work in basketweave stitch. The lace edging is worked in the same way. Sew on the buttons, fasten off, and weave in all ends.
