28. Wrist Warmers In Post Stitches
2013-05-15, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Another version with post stitches. This time I made wrist warmers which can be worn with ripple part turned towards fingers, and I used two shades of the same color. The wrist warmers got also a matching crocheted flower brooch. The fabric is thick, so it's important to use soft yarn for these wrist warmers.

27. Fingerless Mittens In Post Stitches
2013-05-03, by Jolanta Gustafsson
I used three different post stitch patterns to make these mittens. All of them creates a thick fabric, so it's important to use soft yarn for them. Otherwise the mittens can be too stiff. You can choose any color combination, but if you want the stitch patterns to stand out better use adjacent colors from the color wheel – like red violet and blue violet in this case, or two shades of the same color.

19. White Gloves With a Flower And Lace-Edging
2013-02-02, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The main stitch for these gloves is double crochet. The gloves are decorated with a popcorn flower and a matching popcorn lace-edging.

16. Mittens With a Cord On the Wrist
2013-01-05, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The mittens are crocheted in simple double crochet stitche and are simply shaped. But they have a fun detail – a cord to tighten them on the wrist. It's important to use soft yarn for these mittens so that they don't feel stiffly when they lie in pleats under the cord. The button and the loop at the end of the cord should be big enough to button up and unbutton them even with the mittens on.

11. Fingerless Mittens With Cuffs In Ripple Stitch
2012-11-25, by Jolanta Gustafsson
I've chosen a fine self-striping yarn for this project. The stripes allow the ripple stitch on the cuffs to show off. And the fine yarn was necessary to get a sufficient number of waves. All the edges are decorated with picot-shells. The picot-shells on the ripple edge are placed on the peaks, making the gentle ripple look more pointy.

10. Mittens In Different Colors With Three Flowers
2012-11-22, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Inspiration to knit or crochet comes to me very often from yarn. This time I had two skeins of same quality yarn, but in different colors. I had no idea what to do with it, but I just wanted to start crocheting. And I started crocheting mittens (what a surprise!), hoping that I'll get a more precise idea while working. But the yarn was thick and the first mitten was finished så quickly... and I had still no idea... The idea came at last, but much later.

9. Set In Alpaca
2012-11-19, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Wrist warmers in a set with ankle socks are crocheted in a soft alpaca yarn. As the yarn itself gives a nice texture, the items are worked in simple double crochet stitch all the way through (except the heels which are worked in single crochet). The edges are decorated with shell-edging.

6. Rosy Mittens With a Flower
2012-10-26, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The flower on these rosy mittens is challenging to crochet. But there are also some advantages in this project. The body of the mitten, including the edging, the ribbing and the flower, is made in one piece of yarn - so it is only 4 ends to weave in for each mitten. The mittens are made from chunky yarn using 7 mm hook and are super quick to crochet - just 23 rounds and they are finished!
