39. Cuffs In Beige With Long Lace Edging
2013-10-05, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Inspiration for these cuffs came from the beautiful lace edging from the book 'The Complete Book of Crochet Border Designs', by Linda P. Schapper (see p. 190). It is so special – both elegant and interesting – that I absolutely had to use it. I've chosen to make the cuffs in beige with a long closure of wooden buttons. I think that all these details together create an even more special look – something with a mixture of elegance and nature.

36. Cuffs In Tunisian Crochet With Lace Edging
2013-09-01, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Once again I was using bright colors and lace edging for designing the cuffs. This time the cuffs are worked in Tunisian simple stitch and have a button closure. Seldom I make items in exactly the same pattern, but when it comes to trying different color combinations I just can't keep myself from making one more and one more...

34. Mittens In Tunisian Crochet 'A Scent Of Mint '
2013-08-08, by Jolanta Gustafsson
These mittens are crocheted in Tunisian Crochet in rounds with a double ended hook. The yarn I used is a very soft blend with Angora, a very fine and special yarn. When I started making these mittens I was not sure how I wanted them to be - this is one of those cases where the yarn guided me how to make them.

33. Long Cuffs 'Rosy Sweetness'
2013-07-31, by Jolanta Gustafsson
These sweet rosy cuffs are inspired by Irish Crochet. The flowers and the leaves are typical Irish, but the background is knitted. I tried to design the cuffs as beautiful as the Irish crocheted pieces are, but still easy to make. So I've chosen a knitted lace for the background which is very stretchy therefore there is no need for shaping, and the motifs are simply sewn on.

26. Cuffs With Rose Buttons
2013-04-28, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Inspiration for these cuffs came from the cute rose buttons, and I thought that they will show off well on the background of basketweave stitch. It's quite a heavy stitch, but the lace edging lightens it up. And the violet edge makes the rose buttons merge in better. You can use any flower buttons for these cuffs, just choose the matching color for the edge. The cuffs are crocheted in cotton, so they are not as warm as if they were made in wool or wool blend.

25. Mittens In Tunisian Crochet With Cross Stitch Roses
2013-04-20, by Jolanta Gustafsson
This time I was inspired by cross stitch embroidery. So Tunisian simple stitch seemed to be most suitable as a background due to its gridlike texture. And I've chosen to crochet the mittens flat because it is more comfortable to work the cross stitch embroidery on a flat piece. It was soooo fun to work with these mittens!!! I enjoyed every stage of work – planning the motif, crocheting in Tunisian style, embroidering, drawing diagrams, taking photos... I am certainly going to make more of the kind!

22. Gray Mittens In Vertical Stripes
2013-03-17, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The mittens are crocheted with a double-ended hook in rounds. Light gray was used for picking the stitches up, and dark gray for working them off. Every other stitch is Tunisian knit stitch, and every other is Tunisian simple stitch worked into vertical bar on the back side of work. It is probably the easiest way to form a pattern of vertical stripes. Another good thing about this stitch pattern is that it makes an elastic and soft fabric even though it is thick.

15. Mittens In Ecru With Lace-Edgings In Three Rows
2012-12-28, by Jolanta Gustafsson
I love combining knitting and crochet in one item. These mittens are knitted using two strands, and then decorated with crocheted lace edgings using one strand. Three rows of lace edgings dominates the mittens and creates a romantic look. I guess I was unconsciously thinking about the Snow Queen from a fairy tale when I was making them. If they were made in white yarn I would call them ”The Snow Queen's Mittens”.

13. Wrist Warmers In Orange And Magenta
2012-12-12, by Jolanta Gustafsson
I used quite an unusual color combination for these wrist warmers – bright orange and rosy magenta, which resulted in a nearly shouting sound effect and attracts attention. The wrist warmers are crocheted with a double-ended hook in rounds using a stitch that creates a texture of woven fabric. The edge is decorated with a chain-loop fringe in two rows, each in different color.
