21. Colorful Mittens
2013-03-09, by Jolanta Gustafsson
These mittens are designed having variegated yarns in mind. The part of the mittens knitted in variegated yarn has the same width all over. This way the colors pool similarly everywhere and form a regular pattern. The two other colors used in the mittens are chosen from the scale of the variegated yarn.

18. Mittens With Winter Flowers
2013-01-26, by Jolanta Gustafsson
Once again I am using a flower motif. But as the color of yarn this time is a very cold light turquoise, the flowers on these mittens must be winter flowers. Maybe the ones that the frost uses to draw on windows.

17. White Wrist Warmers In a Set With Cowl
2013-01-12, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The items in this set are distinguished for their rich texture, and the naturally white yarn shows it off at its maximum. The texture is made up of three stitches – lace, bobbles on the background of stockinette and ribbing.
All the items are knitted flat on single-pointed straight needles. Yarn: 55 % cotton & 45 % merinowool, 100 g = approx 180 m Needles: 4 mm Free pattern Gratis mönster |
14. Christmas Mittens
2012-12-22, by Jolanta Gustafsson
These mittens are a collection of my favorite design elements and techniques: lace, stripes, traditional motifs, intarsia, contrasting colors. For me it's exactly how I see Christmas – a lot of beautiful and good things gathered together.

12. Mittens In Beige With Twisted Ribbing
2012-12-07, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The mittens are knitted in simple stockinette with two details in twisted ribbing. The ribbing on the wrist starts further from the edge, leaving a narrow cuff in stockinette that curls slightly. Another detail in twisted ribbing is the thumb. The shaping is made to fit the varying width of the hand – the mitten up to the thumb is wider than the upper part of the mitten.

4. Mittens In Mottled Colors
2012-10-16, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The eye-catching effect in these mittens is created by contrasting colors in the fabric. I love these mittens - they are so simply, but still so beautiful to look at, just because the colors make each other appear brighter. And I always want to try another color combination...
Yarn: 75 % wool, 100 g = approx 200 m, two strands in different colors Needles: dp 6 mm |
3. Mittens With a Cable Flower
2012-10-16, by Jolanta Gustafsson
The mittens are decorated with a lace edging and a stitch pattern of a cable flower on a background of reverse stockinette. The cable is worked over 2 stitches without the cable needle: knit 2 stitches together and don't slip them off the needle, knit the first stitch once again, then slip both stitches off the needle.
Yarn: 75 % wool, 100 g = approx 200 m, two strands Needles: dp 6 mm |
